Turn off the phone

phoneHave you ever heard of voicemail?

The phone is either a tool that will facilitate communication or it is a major interruption in your day.

Most desk phones and smart phones have a feature that lets you set it to ‘do not disturb’ when you need to focus on something. Use it! Let the call go to voicemail. Remember, you can check the voicemail when you have finished what you are working on (or have someone else check it for you).

Nothing makes me crazier than being in a meeting with someone (who is paying for my time) and have them stop the action to take a call that really isn’t that important. They are wasting their money (they are paying me to sit there) and their time as well.
